Nyhavn canal, dug 300 years ago to give traders access into the heart of the city. The sort of place you'd go to meet a sailor or a writer. Why writers? Don't know. Perhaps sailors were a good source of tales. More likely, local pubs were home port for both. The ever-present H.C. Andersen lived hereabouts for awhile. These days, gentrified and popular with tourists. Chances are not everyone in that crowd has his sea-legs.
